You have likely found yourself here because you are dissatisfied with some area of your life. Whether it's your relationships with others, your relationship with your body, or your relationship to your own mind, we all find ourselves unhappy with any or all of these areas at some point in our lives.
The purpose of therapy is to have a safe space with a trained professional to address this dissatisfaction, including to relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression, and to help you to process what is holding you back from meaningful change.
Sometimes it can take a very long time to heal from trauma or unravel a lifetime of habits, unhealthy coping strategies, and harmful messaging from the culture and people around you. I ask that you be patient and that you come open to doing the work. My commitment to you is that I will be present and always work to honor your unique story and perspective. You can read more about my style and approach to therapy here. I work with adults and adolescents 14 years of age or older.

The most successful and lasting weight loss is that which is done intentionally, at a reasonable pace, and with a commitment to making changes. After all, how will anything be different if nothing changes? We have all wished we could magically suddenly have our dream body or find a diet or product that does all the work for us, but unfortunately that's just not how it works. Change does not need to be drastic or difficult though. We can start with small, sustainable changes that will be successful and catered to your personal preferences and lifestyle.
I have personal experience with weight loss and have maintained a loss of over 75lbs for several years. I believe this makes be uniquely qualified to help you with your own weight loss goals.
Though one of my specialties is weight management, this does not need to be a goal of yours in order to work with me. For some, it can even be harmful to have weight loss as a goal.
If you have struggled with eating disorders or are currently at a healthy weight and you would like to lose weight, we can look at the many facets of how the way you eat, exercise, and how the world around you impacts your goals, and we can work toward weight management and empowering you to be your happiest and healthiest self.
Exercise is not necessary to achieve weight loss. Some people face physical limitations that impact what exercises they can do, and others have never found enjoyment or even hate the concept of exercise. That being said, I fully believe that movement and exercise is one of the best natural antidepressants/anxiolytics (i.e. anti-anxiety treatments) out there and can be very helpful in long term weight management.
If you're able, even just walking more has shown to have numerous benefits on mood and physical health. Also, muscle burns calories, so if you're able to build muscle it can be nice to have your body do some of the work for you!
